On 12 October, we welcomed 150 people to Triodos bank to collaborate around a common goal: to channel more private finance into nature’s recovery in the West of England.
The conference showcased projects that are breaking down barriers to private finance right here in our region, such as the Bristol Avon Catchment Market, the development of a freshwater biodiversity investment model by the Bristol Avon Rivers Trust and South Gloucestershire Council’s innovative ICaN tool. We also heard from people pioneering regional approaches at a similar scale in other parts of the country, such as Nature North, Wilder Carbon and Revere (a collaboration between the National Parks and Palladium), and from national policymakers and practitioners about the emerging opportunities and policies around nature markets.
Thank you to all our speakers, chairs and delegates for a fantastic day, and special thanks to Triodos for their sponsorship.
WENP’s Natural Environment Finance Strategy Group will be working together to take forward collective actions from the conference. If you’d like to contribute your thoughts on how we should do that, please email [email protected].
